ABOUT US

Tara's Meadow is a 30-acre retreat and educational center on Beaver Island, Michigan. For over twenty years, we have hosted educational workshops, classes, and events that foster a healthy sense of self, community, and place, and that further environmental and cultural awareness, wisdom and eco-literacy.

EDUCATION

Sharing life teachings of earth, culture, and spirit is at the very heart of what we do. Tara's Meadow is proud to serve as a site for nature-based experiential education for individuals, couples, schools and colleges, and other groups. We offer opportunities for students to study island history, biology, and ecosystems—as well as sustainability and cultural resilience—while providing young people with unique and meaningful mentorship connections.

SERVICES

By partnering with skilled facilitators, Tara's Meadow provides a wide variety of services to those looking to expand their horizons, including Eco-Adventures & Island Tours, Wisdom Studies, Life Coaching, and Spiritual Mentoring. We also offer group, organization, and community building workshops created for your unique needs. All services come with the opportunity to book a stay at one of our beautiful lodging sites: the Cedar Home, Dome in the Woods, Meadow Cabin, or local campsites.

INITIATIVES

Tara's Meadow is a foundational partner in the Beaver Island Sustainability Initiative, an island-wide project aiming to increase self-sufficiency by implementing clean energy projects, building food sovereignty, growing cultural awareness, and promoting environmental stewardship. And each year, the Beaver Island Sustainability Fair brings accomplished presenters from the mainland to engage with island residents and local experts, and anyone wishing to learn more about the initiative.

EVENTS

We host a variety of programs and special events throughout the year that are open to the public, both on Beaver Island and on the mainland. Some examples include women’s and men’s retreats, meditation classes, story-telling, Island adventures, and seasonal celebrations. Check out our calendar for a list of upcoming classes and opportunities - we have something for everyone!

WHAT OUR GUESTS HAVE TO SAY

Words alone are insufficient to describe how wonderful this space is and how awesome Seamus is as a host. Much love and an entire island community contributed to the creation of the Lodge at Tara's Meadow...Time slows down here...The pictures do not do justice to how beautiful the Lodge and Meadow really are - you just have to experience it.
