About the event

Three rich, wonderful days in a comfortable format, with deep sharings, music, movement, and play together, in the grace of late summer! Teachings from GRANDMOTHER GENNIE MORGAN, who has roots that extend back to Beaver Island and who is a member of the Sault Ste Marie Chippewa Tribe and the Burt Lake Bands; and Hilary Lake, MDiv, a healing arts community minister and somatic therapist with a background in Buddhism. There is no more beautiful place to enjoy these teachings than Tara’s Meadow Retreat Center on Beaver Isle.

Details

This year’s end-of-summer Retreat at Tara’s Meadow, Beaver Isle features wisdom from across generations and rich complementary cultures. Four Directions teachings will be shared by Chippewa Grandmother Genevieve (Gennie) Morgan, keeper of the Medicine Wheel at Heritage Park, and Hilary Lake, healing arts community minister and founder of Moving in Grace embodiment practice. We'll be enjoying the beauty of this gentle land and exploring our relationship to ourselves, the land, our ancestors, each other and what we are envisioning to co-create in our lives and communities. There will be 3 delicious vegetarian meals a day and spacious time for deepening with ourselves and in community amidst this precious sanctuary.

Tara's Meadow, pristine 30 acre retreat and educational center, is host for this special retreat. Seamus Nogaard is honored to bring together the fine teachers and musicians. Seamus will briefly share his knowledge of the Irish Spirit Wheel and Celtic 4 Directions teachings, then step back for the featured wisdom of this weekend's honored guests.

Youth & Elders Gathering Together

We are especially excited that our Retreat will be shared with a blending of youth & elders sharing wisdom from across the generations! There will be a strong representation of younger voices as well as those from the elders among us. This includes special guest presenter Hilary Johne Lake will be offering her depth of acquired teachings from her decades of seeking and service across the planet. And we welcome our young keeper of the sacred fire August Srdjak who has tended ceremonial fires in the Lakota tradition since 2011.

Linda Lawless Hammond, Carrier of Irish & Native American Music Traditions will be joining us. She will be sharing her inspiring music, and her fun and soulful presence during our 4 DIRECTI0NS 4 WISDOM retreat. Linda's musical skills include Native American and Irish flutes, banjo, Irish squeeze box, guitar, and bodhran, along with her beautiful singing voice.

This will be so much fun, and so spirit-enriching! We'll have Linda along with musician friends Lori & John Kautsky, 2 wise elders from Alaska. They'll all be back together playing music again at Tara's Meadow, helping to bring our souls more fully into synch for these challenging times on Our Planet.

Our prayers, Our music, Our energies Rise Up Together Now. So that we may send out together our little bit of grace to all Life ~ to the people in Ukraine, Syria, Russia, and to the many other forgotten people and places. We The People of Obtawaing ~ our beloved homeland here in the North of Michigan ~ also feel the blessing now of our new strong, fresh and resilient shared identity. May we all learn to live within the balance of energies from the 4 Directions!

SPOTS ARE LIMITED. Registration only available by emailing Seamus Norgard at celticbodyprayers@gmail.com.
